NEW YORK GOVERNOR ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

New York is poised to embark on its first major nuclear power project in over a decade, with Governor Kathy Hochul announcing plans Monday to build a new facility. The state's Power Authority has been tasked with developing a nuclear plant with a combined capacity of at least one gigawatt, marking the first major new US nuclear construction since 2009, according to a New York state press release.
