US President Donald Trump dismissed Iran’s latest diplomatic proposal, specifically targeting the opening of the document, during his visit to Beijing on Friday, May 15, 2026.


Trump asserted that Iran has backtracked on previous commitments regarding its nuclear program, stating that the very first sentence was "unacceptable" because it failed to align with his requirement for a total cessation of nuclear activity.

An American medical missionary worker has tested positive for Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo, U.S. officials announced on Monday. The individual, who was exposed while working with a missionary group, began showing symptoms over the weekend. According to Dr. Satish Pillai of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the patient is currently being evacuated to Germany for specialized medical treatment.

The US Senate confirmed Kevin Warsh as the next chair of the Federal Reserve on Wednesday in a 54-45 vote. Warsh, nominated by President Donald Trump, will succeed Jerome Powell, whose term ends this Friday. The confirmation was largely split along party lines, with Pennsylvania’s John Fetterman serving as the only Democrat to vote in favor. Warsh’s victory marks the narrowest margin for a Fed chair since the Senate approval process began in 1977.

President Trump has settled his lawsuit against the IRS, and the deal could benefit some unlikely figures, including Hunter Biden.

The president agreed Monday to drop his $10 billion suit against the Internal Revenue Service in exchange for a formal apology and the creation of a $1.776 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund, administered by the Justice Department, to compensate Americans who believe they were unfairly targeted by their own government.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers may be deployed to provide security at FIFA World Cup matches in the U.S. next month. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials stated that the agency has offered its personnel to local and federal law enforcement to assist with perimeter security, a standard procedure for major events like the Super Bowl. While it is not yet clear if the offer has been accepted, officials emphasized that agents would not be screening spectators or employees for immigration status.
