Melania Trump has revealed the 2025 White House Christmas decorations, marking her first holiday season back as first lady. The theme, "Home Is Where The Heart Is," was introduced on Dec. 1 and, according to a White House press release, aims to capture "the heartfelt character of America within the People's House." The decorations also acknowledge next year's 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

The official Christmas tree is displayed in the Blue Room, where it features ornaments representing every U.S. state and territory, as well as gold stars honoring Gold Star Families "who lost loved ones in military service." The placement follows the demolition of the East Wing and colonnade in October, part of President Donald Trump's plan to build a new ballroom. Melania wrote on X, "This Christmas, let's celebrate the love we hold within ourselves and share it with the world around us... wherever we are, we can create a home filled with endless possibilities."

The Red Room, temporarily named the "Fostering the Future Red Room," highlights Melania's initiatives through white ornaments reading "Be Best" and bright blue butterfly ornaments meant to symbolize "transformation." The theme connects to her "Fostering the Future" initiative supporting children in foster care. The Blue Room maintains the tradition of state ornaments and its tribute to military families, while the Green Room incorporates a toy-inspired aesthetic with domino-themed displays and a mantel of Christmas village houses made from playing cards and dominoes.

A pair of portraits crafted from more than 6,000 Lego pieces each—depicting George Washington and Donald Trump—are also featured. The gingerbread White House in the State Dining Room shows the South Portico and includes a view into the Yellow Oval Room.

Melania's return to holiday decorating comes after earlier seasons drew widespread attention, including her 2018 remark, "who gives a f--- about the Christmas stuff and decorations?" recorded by a former adviser. This year, she resumed tradition on Nov. 24 by welcoming the official 18.5-foot white fir from Michigan-based Korson's Tree Farms to begin the 2025 celebrations.
