Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas have reportedly gone their separate ways after less than a year together. Sources confirmed to Us Weekly that the split was primarily de Armas' decision, citing that "things were moving fast and she started to get a little uncomfortable with how fast it was going."

The insider explained that while the Ballerina star "put the brakes on," she "still likes him a lot" and shares "a connection" with the Mission: Impossible actor. "They want to remain friends, but she needed to take a step back," the source added.

Cruise, 63, and de Armas, 37, reportedly met through Hollywood circles and developed chemistry while preparing for their upcoming thriller Deeper, which is currently on hold. "They spent every day together in preparation and training for the intense underwater sequences," a source said. "It started as a deep professional respect and then it ignited. Tom was completely captivated by Ana."

Their relationship became public earlier this year after being spotted in London in February. The pair were seen having dinner during Valentine's Day weekend and later arrived together via helicopter at the London Heliport in March. In April, Cruise flew de Armas in a copter just before her birthday, and in July, they were photographed holding hands in Woodstock, Vermont.

Despite their chemistry, insiders revealed that de Armas was cautious about moving too quickly. "She isn't looking for anything to move too fast," one source shared. "She's taking it really slow." The actress reportedly found Cruise's superstar status overwhelming at times and preferred to keep her personal life private.

Both stars spoke highly of each other in recent interviews. De Armas described working with Cruise as "so much fun," adding that they were collaborating on "a few projects" together. Cruise, meanwhile, praised her upcoming movie Ballerina, calling it "kick-ass." In response, de Armas told Variety that she appreciated his support, saying, "It is very special that someone like him is supporting Ballerina."

The pair's short-lived romance appears to have ended amicably, with both choosing to prioritize friendship and their professional partnership. As one insider summed it up, "Tom and Ana are done for now. They still have respect for each other and will see how things go in the future."
