Child actor Floyd Roger Myers Jr., best known for his roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel‑Air and The Jacksons: An American Dream, has died at the age of 42. His mother, Renee Trice, confirmed that he passed away on the morning of October 29, 2025, at his home in Maryland from a heart attack.
According to his family, Myers had endured three previous heart attacks over the past three years, and his death came just hours after they last spoke. He leaves behind four children, Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler and Knox. He is remembered by his family as a devoted father, loving brother and kind friend whose warmth touched everyone who knew him.
Myers made his acting debut in 1992 when he portrayed a young version of Will Smith’s character in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. That same year, he also took on the role of young Marlon Jackson in The Jacksons: An American Dream. His last recorded screen appearance was in 2000 in the short‐lived television drama Young Americans.
Beyond his acting credits, Myers co-founded the nonprofit organization The Fellaship Men’s Group, which focuses on men’s mental-health and empowerment. The group honored his passing with a statement saying they would continue their mission in his memory. Myers additionally ran his own business in Maryland, adding entrepreneur to his list of roles.
The news of his passing has drawn tributes from fans and former colleagues alike, all expressing sorrow at the loss of someone they felt represented youthful promise on screen and genuine kindness in life. A GoFundMe campaign started by his sister, Tyree Trice, called him “a devoted father … whose kindness, laughter and warmth touched everyone he met.”
While his screen roles were few, Myers’ early work left a notable mark on classic 1990s television. His performance as the young Will in The Fresh Prince episode tapped into the show’s playful yet heartfelt tone and his role in The Jacksons miniseries linked him to one of pop culture’s most famous families.
Myers’ family has indicated that his funeral will take place in early November, and in the meantime they are asking for privacy as they mourn his unexpected loss. He will be remembered not only for his early achievements in entertainment but also for the love he showed his children and the community work he carried out beyond the camera.
