Jennifer Lawrence is opening up about one of the most unexpected moments she's ever experienced on a film set.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, Oct. 17, the Oscar winner, 35, shared that while rehearsing for her upcoming psychological drama Die My Love, she and her co-star Robert Pattinson, 39, were put through a rather unconventional exercise.

"Lynne Ramsay, our director, challenged us during rehearsals — Robert and I had to do interpretive dance lessons together," Lawrence recalled. "We both embarrass pretty easily, and we didn't really know each other, so it was totally humiliating."

Things only escalated once cameras started rolling. "Then on the first day of filming, she asked if we remembered what we did — and if we would do it naked!" Lawrence joked, prompting laughter and disbelief from fellow guests Bruce Springsteen, Jeremy Allen White, and Tessa Thompson. "Should I have said no? You all seem quite shocked," she added with a laugh.

The actress plays Grace, a young mother spiraling into postpartum psychosis, opposite Pattinson's Jackson in Ramsay's adaptation of Ariana Harwicz's 2017 novel. The film premiered to a nine-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival in May and opens in theaters on Nov. 7.

Lawrence revealed that filmmaker Martin Scorsese initially introduced the project to her. "Marty brought it to us after reading the book in his book club — which is adorable — and said I should play the character," she said. "When I read it, I had a hard time imagining it as a movie, but I wasn't going to correct Marty!"

The Silver Linings Playbook star also spoke about returning to acting after taking a break from Hollywood. "I worked all through my 20s, and I needed some time out," she said. "I was at peace with the possibility of not coming back, but I thought it would be fine either way."

Die My Love has been praised as a daring return for Lawrence, marking her first film since 2023's No Hard Feelings and putting her back in awards contention after her last nomination in 2016.
