After nearly a decade together, Next Gen NYC stars Ariana Biermann and Hudson McLeroy have decided to part ways. The 23-year-old reality star announced the split on her Instagram Stories on October 14, writing, "Hudson and I have decided to go our separate ways.
While these things are never easy, we both know it's what's best for us right now. We are so grateful for all the love and support you've shown us over the years." She added, "Sometimes life takes you in different directions and that's okay <3 love you all." McLeroy reposted the message on his own Story, confirming the breakup.
The two, who began dating in junior high in Atlanta, made their relationship public in 2018 when they attended their high school homecoming together. Biermann, daughter of Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak, and McLeroy, son of Zaxby's co-founder Zach McLeroy, were among Bravo's Next Gen NYC cast, which follows the lives of the next generation of reality-TV personalities.
Over the years, the couple shared affectionate tributes on social media. In 2023, Biermann called McLeroy her "soulmate," writing, "I have never enjoyed every second with someone like I do with you. You truly are my absolute best friend. The love we have is so pure." A year earlier, McLeroy had posted "21 reasons" he loved her, including her "joy in the little things."
Their relationship was often described as on-and-off. After a brief split, the two reunited in 2022 and moved to New York City together in mid-2024. Cameras captured the transition for Next Gen NYC, where the pair discussed the future of their relationship and possible engagement. At the time, Biermann mentioned having a personal timeline for engagement but emphasized that she didn't want to pressure McLeroy into making a decision before he was ready.
The pair's bond had once appeared unshakable. "You are everything I could dream of, and have been since we were 14," Biermann wrote in 2022. But as she noted in her announcement, life can take unexpected turns. Despite the end of their romance, both stars expressed gratitude to fans for their support as they move forward separately.
