'Taylor Swift has shared her side of the now-viral story involving Zoë Kravitz and Lisa Bonet's pet Burmese python that went missing inside her Beverly Hills home — an incident she has affectionately dubbed "the chicest thing" she's ever heard.
During her Oct. 8 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the pop star recalled the chaotic moment she learned that her houseguest's snake had gotten loose in her bathroom. The incident occurred when Kravitz and Bonet stayed at Swift's mansion after evacuating during the California wildfires.
"I just remember getting a call from my head of security and him trying to explain this story to me," Swift told Meyers. "My first question was, 'What snake?'" She admitted she "was unaware of the presence of the snake" until her team described the scene. "Zoe Kravitz and Lisa Bonet are holding on to a Burmese python. It's halfway in the wall. There's a man standing with an ax, who has just chopped up a custom vintage antique cupboard."
Kravitz had previously shared her version of events, revealing that her mother's pet snake Orpheus had slithered into a "little hole" in Swift's bathroom wall, forcing them to "rip up the tile, scratching the walls," in an effort to get it out. "We completely destroyed Taylor's bathroom," Kravitz admitted during her August appearance on the same show.
Swift, however, took the destruction in stride. "There's splinters on the floor. They're looking — in my mind, this is an Annie Leibovitz shoot," she joked. "This is the chicest thing I've ever heard in my life. Zoe's wearing, like, head-to-toe The Row. I'm like, 'This is a YSL ad, not a problem.'" Laughing, she added, "It just sounds incredible. I'm sad I didn't see it."
The 14-time Grammy winner also revealed she played a "little game" waiting for her friend to confess. "I know her well enough to know she's not gonna tell me about this until it's fixed," she said. "It was three weeks, exactly the amount of time it took to fix the damaged cupboard."
When Kravitz finally admitted what happened, Swift told her, "Dude, I've been laughing about this for three weeks." She summed it up simply: "I can't even be mad."
