Jennifer Lawrence has never shied away from sharing her thoughts on pop culture, and her latest take is sparking plenty of conversation among fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty. While promoting her new film Die My Love alongside co-star Robert Pattinson, the Oscar winner admitted where her loyalties lie in the show's central love triangle — and it's not with the fan favorite.

"I have been ordered by all of my friends to not reveal this," Lawrence confessed during an interview with MUBI on September 29. "I'm Team Jeremiah, I am. I think that Conrad is toxic. Like he kind of liked her, but then he didn't and he left her hanging. And then for him to confess his love to her the night before her wedding is sick. I'm team Jeremiah. Rake me over the coals."

Her opinion touches on the final season of the Prime Video adaptation of Jenny Han's bestselling series, which saw Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) end up with Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) after breaking off her engagement to his younger brother Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). While the ending satisfied the large portion of the fandom who identify as "Team Conrad," Lawrence clearly wasn't convinced.

The finale showed Belly moving to Paris for a year before returning to confront her feelings. After initially pushing Conrad away, she admitted, "I still love her. And I still love him," before rushing to reunite with him at the train station. Jeremiah, meanwhile, found happiness with his coworker Denise and rediscovered his passion for cooking.

Casalegno has acknowledged how difficult it was to play Jeremiah, a character who faced backlash from some viewers. He said people tend to dislike him, and emphasized that "this is a fictional story — and it's also not me." The negative comments often blurred the line between character and actor, something Amazon executives addressed with reminders to fans that "the show isn't real but the people playing the characters are."

As for Lawrence, she may be in the minority with her allegiance to Jeremiah, but she's standing firm: "I'm Team Jeremiah. Rake me over the coals."
