Bad Bunny is officially set to headline one of the biggest stages in the world as the 31 year old rapper, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, takes on the Super Bowl LX halftime show early next year. The announcement was made by the NFL during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers game on Sunday, Sept. 28, following a social media teaser that sent fans into a frenzy.

On Instagram, Bad Bunny shared a short clip of himself perched on a goalpost at the beach with a vivid sunset behind him. As the video panned out, text revealed his upcoming halftime performance, which will be presented by Apple Music. The rapper also confirmed the news on X, joking that he had decided to do "just one date in the United States" after lengthy talks with his team, a nod to his earlier decision to exclude the U.S. from his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour in protest of immigration crackdowns under President Donald Trump.

Super Bowl LX will be held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026. The halftime show has become as much a cultural event as the game itself, with recent performers including Kendrick Lamar in 2025, Usher in 2024, and Rihanna in 2023. Lamar's set, which featured appearances from SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard, became the most watched halftime show to date. Previous shows have featured iconic lineups such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige alongside Lamar in 2022.

The partnership between the NFL and Roc Nation, founded by Jay Z in 2019, continues to shape the halftime stage. Jay Z, who serves as the league's live music entertainment strategist, praised Bad Bunny's appointment, saying what he has accomplished for Puerto Rico is "truly inspiring" and that it is an honor to have him represent his culture on a global platform.

In a statement, Bad Bunny expressed gratitude and pride, emphasizing that the performance is not just for himself but for those who paved the way. "This is for my people, my culture, and our history," he said, encouraging fans to spread the news to their families. Super Bowl LX promises a performance infused with meaning, pride, and celebration when it airs on Feb. 8.
