The magical world of Harry Potter recently received a royal touch. Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — paid a visit to the set of HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter series, Deadline has confirmed through sources.

According to the Daily Mail, the royal family first toured the Hogsmeade Station set earlier this week at Windsor Great Park, a location conveniently close to their home. The set recreates the enchanting wizarding village and includes a half-mile stretch of track cutting through the surrounding woods. The standout feature: the iconic Hogwarts Express, which young Prince Louis had the chance to ride, complete with its famous steam locomotive.

While the first visit offered the family a look at the behind-the-scenes magic, Middleton and the children returned on Friday evening for a more immersive experience. During the second trip, George, Charlotte, and Louis were able to watch filming in action and meet members of the cast. Among them was Dominic McLaughlin, the actor cast as Harry Potter, who personally greeted the children.

A representative for HBO declined to comment on the royal visit, but the appearance underscores just how much excitement the series is already generating. With filming now underway, it seems the project has become a spectacle not only for fans worldwide but also for Britain’s most famous family.

The royal children are known to be Harry Potter fans. Back in 2017, Queen Camilla revealed that King Charles had been reading J.K. Rowling’s beloved books to George and Charlotte. Although Prince Louis wasn’t yet born at the time, he appears to have embraced the wizarding world with the same enthusiasm, as shown by his ride aboard the Hogwarts Express.

This isn’t the first time members of the British monarchy have shown interest in HBO’s major productions. In 2014, the late Queen Elizabeth II memorably toured the Belfast set of Game of Thrones during her visit to Northern Ireland, sparking global headlines.

The Harry Potter TV adaptation promises to be a sweeping, decade-long project, retelling Rowling’s novels in greater detail than the original films. Production on the first season began in July, with crews filming at several locations across the U.K. The series is slated to debut on HBO in early 2027, and expectations are high that it will reintroduce the Wizarding World to a new generation while thrilling longtime fans.

With royal approval already in the mix, anticipation for HBO’s Harry Potter series continues to grow — and the magical adventure has only just begun.
