New accusations have been made against Errol Musk. According to documents obtained by The New York Times on September 23, Elon Musk's estranged father is accused of sexually abusing five of his children and stepchildren.
According to police and court reports, as well as family and social worker interviews that the outlet was able to obtain, Errol, 79, was allegedly sexually abusing his children in both South Africa, where Elon was born, and California. (In a statement released on September 23, Errol responded to the accusations by telling the New York Times that “the reports are false and nonsense in the extreme.”)
According to the documents, the first incident occurred in 1993 when Jana Bezuidenhout, the businessman's stepdaughter at the time, was 4 years old. She reportedly told family members that he had touched her. The New York Times reported that ten years later, she claimed to have seen Errol sniffing her filthy underwear. Years after he divorced Jana's mother, Heide Bezuidenhout, in 2004, Errol revealed in 2018 that he and Jana had welcomed a child together.
In addition to Heide, Errol has at least nine children and two stepchildren. He was previously married to Sue Musk and Maye Haldeman.
According to family members, Errol has also been accused of abusing a stepson and two of his daughters. When his then-5-year-old son claimed that Errol had touched his buttocks in 2023, family members and a social worker became involved, according to the Times.
According to police and court documents, three distinct police investigations were launched, the NYT said. While two of the investigations were concluded, the outlet stated that Errol has not been found guilty of any crimes and that it is unclear what transpired in the third.
In a statement to the NYT, Errol denied the accusations and claimed that family members had made them up in an attempt to obtain money from Elon by "putting the children up to say false things.”
Errol also claimed in an email to the Times that he was only aware of one abuse claim, but the publication pointed out that he "offered explanations for the circumstances around two others" in the same email.
Elon, the founder of Tesla, has not publicly addressed the accusations made against his father.
Errol previously criticized Elon's parenting style in a February interview on the Wide Awake podcast, but he told the Times that he and Elon get along well and "are very close."
At the time, he claimed, "He hasn't been a good dad." They had too many nannies and were too wealthy. After that, he had five children with the same woman, all of whom were sons. Everyonehad a personal nanny.
