Riley Keough and her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, have quietly expanded their family. The couple, who are already parents to 3-year-old daughter Tupelo, privately welcomed their second child earlier this year, as confirmed by Riley's grandmother, Priscilla Presley.

"That's what makes me happy," Priscilla shared with People in an interview published on September 17. "Knowing everyone is doing well."

Keough, 36, and Smith-Petersen married in 2015 and first became parents in August 2022 when their daughter Tupelo was born via surrogate. At the time, Riley spoke candidly about her decision to use surrogacy, revealing it was the best option due to her ongoing health struggles.

"I can carry children, but it felt like the best choice for what I had going on physically with the autoimmune stuff," she told Vanity Fair in August 2023, referring to her battle with Lyme disease. "I think it's a very cool, selfless, and incredible act that these women do to help other people."

The Daisy Jones & The Six star has been open about her desire to be a hands-on and present parent. "This is the thing in my life so far that I have really wanted to, quote-unquote, get right," she said at the time. "I don't think you ever can be a perfect parent, but I would like to be the best mom for her that I can be."

The couple's first child's birth was also kept private for several months. Ben subtly confirmed they were parents while delivering a eulogy Riley had written for her late mother, Lisa Marie Presley, during the January 2023 funeral service at Elvis Presley's Graceland estate.

"Thank you for showing me that love is the only thing that matters in this life," Ben read on Riley's behalf. "I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters."

A source previously told Us Weekly that Riley values privacy when it comes to her children, especially given the public nature of her family. "Ben is a huge support system," the insider said. "The possibility of more kids was something Riley and Ben were very open to." With their family now officially a party of four, the couple is looking forward to raising their children out of the spotlight while honoring their family's famous legacy.
