Miss USA and Miss Teen USA are officially set to return after months of controversy surrounding leadership disputes. On September 16, the competitions announced their 2025 dates, confirming that both pageants will take place in Reno, Nevada, at the Grand Sierra Resort in late October. Miss Teen USA will hold its finals on October 23, followed by Miss USA on October 24.

The announcement comes after the Miss Universe Organization, which oversees the American franchises, confirmed a leadership change and declared a "new chapter" in the pageants' history. The organization revealed that pageant coach and judge Thom Brodeur has acquired licensing rights to Miss USA and Miss Teen USA. Brodeur, who had first announced the acquisition on September 4, is now officially recognized as President and CEO of both competitions.

The decision follows public disagreement from former CEO Laylah Rose, who insisted earlier this month that she remained in charge. On September 5, Rose used the official Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Instagram accounts to post a message disputing Brodeur's claims. She wrote that she had not been contacted about any transfer of ownership and had seen no new contracts regarding leadership changes. Rose added that any such transition should be communicated clearly and directly to all stakeholders to protect the future and legacy of the organizations.

In response to Rose's comments, Brodeur told People that he was awaiting official communication from the Miss Universe Organization. That confirmation came with the September 15 press release, which emphasized the pageants' long history and cultural impact. Miss Universe highlighted that Miss USA, with its 74-year legacy, and Miss Teen USA, which has been running for 42 years, have consistently provided a platform for women to launch careers in fashion, media, entertainment, business, and public service. The statement also expressed confidence in Brodeur's leadership, describing it as the beginning of an exciting new era for the brands.

With the official dates now set and the leadership issue resolved, anticipation is building for the October competitions. The upcoming events are expected to mark a fresh start for both pageants as they aim to restore stability and reaffirm their place as significant cultural institutions in the pageant world.
