The 54-year-old won the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Dr. Michael Robinavitch on The Pitt, thirty years after he was nominated for his first of five supporting actor Emmys for his work on ER as John Carter with George Clooney.
In his acceptance speech at the event on September 14, Noah remarked, "What a dream this has been." "I want to express my gratitude to Warner Brothers Television and everyone at HBO Max for creating the circumstances that led to lightning striking my life twice. Thank you for being that lightning, John Wells.
The Donnie Darko star, who defeated other nominees Adam Scott, Pedro Pascal, Gary Oldman, and Sterling K. Brown, not only acknowledged the executive producer but also shouted out his "creative partner in this endeavor," show creator R. Scott Gemmill, saying they're in it "until the wheels come off, brother."
"And to all the amazing artists who meet us every morning on stage," Noah said. "You bring your A-game every day, which inspires me to bring mine. And to my children, to my parents, to my step-parents, and to my beautiful wife, Sarah, who owns half of this, not just because it's California law, [but] because she earned it."
"I’m overjoyed that the nominations were spread across all the different departments, as it reflects our collective effort,” he shared in a statement to E! News. “A heartfelt congrats to all my fellow nominees. I’m humbled and grateful.”
