With her wedding on the horizon, Selena Gomez is feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude and joy. The 33-year-old singer and actress, who is engaged to music producer Benny Blanco, gave a warm update about the progress of her wedding planning during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon alongside her Only Murders in the Building costars on Tuesday, September 9. When Fallon asked if she was enjoying the process, Gomez responded with a smile, saying, "It's wonderful. I'm very lucky." She added that the planning was going smoothly and that she could not be more excited.

Sitting next to Martin Short and Steve Martin, her costars from the hit series, Gomez was immediately pulled into playful banter about the upcoming ceremony. Steve Martin joked that invitations for himself and Short should be arriving any day now, prompting Fallon to tease whether the pair would be attending. Gomez quickly assured him, saying, "Of course they are — Marty's the ring bearer." Short leaned into the joke by dramatically dropping to one knee, stretching his hand in the air, and declaring, "Here's your ring, Selena. Take it," imitating Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.

The lighthearted moment continued when Short told Fallon and the audience how excited he and Martin are for Gomez, adding with affection, "We are all so excited because we love this lady." Then, in true comedic fashion, he slipped in one last joke by saying, "And we love her fiancé, Bad Bunny," to which Gomez, with mock exasperation, quickly corrected him, "Benny Blanco."

Beyond the humor, Short has been openly supportive of Gomez's engagement. On the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, he spoke about his admiration for her and praised Blanco as a fun, easygoing, and genuine partner. He said he was thrilled to see Gomez so happy and felt lucky to share both personal and professional moments with her.

Although the wedding date has not been officially disclosed, signs suggest it is set. Gomez and Blanco celebrated their bachelor and bachelorette parties in August, and celebrities like Ed Sheeran and Paris Hilton have already hinted they are on the guest list. The couple announced their engagement in December 2024 after more than a year of dating. Blanco proposed with a marquise diamond ring that Gomez helped design herself, a detail that ties back to her song "Good for You." Speaking recently on Therapuss with Jake Shane, Gomez said she could not be more certain about marrying Blanco, adding, "I just have never really felt so sure about something."
