If there is one man who can make brewing coffee look like an art form, it is Brad Pitt. At 61, the Hollywood icon is back in the spotlight, not for a new film, but for his latest collaboration with Italian coffee giant De'Longhi. The campaign, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, has already created waves, not just because of Pitt's charm, but because of the creative genius behind the camera: Academy Award-winning director Taika Waititi.

This marks Pitt's continuation as a face of De'Longhi, having taken on the role back in 2021, but it is Waititi's first time directing the company's commercial. Known for his unique mix of humor and storytelling, the New Zealander was the perfect fit to add flair to the coffee world. In the ad, Pitt attempts to make himself an espresso, guided by a witty Italian narration delivered by actor Riccardo Scamarcio. With his less-than-perfect pronunciation of "Perfetto," Pitt endures playful teasing from the voiceover, all while his scene-stealing dog looks on in silent judgment.

Yet behind the humor lies the unmistakable glamour of the ad, with sleek visuals and the gleam of the high-end espresso machine. For many viewers, however, the price tag steals the scene. The featured model sells for a hefty $1,499.95, with an even pricier version displayed at the end for $1,999.95. For the average coffee enthusiast, it may feel like a luxury far out of reach. Still, the commercial taps into the aspirational side of marketing, painting espresso not as just a drink, but a lifestyle.

Pitt's effortless charm paired with Waititi's playful direction ensures that the ad is memorable, even if most viewers stick to their humble coffee makers at home. The collaboration proves once again that when Hollywood meets commercial artistry, the result is something audiences cannot ignore.
