The Kansas City Chiefs player revealed his feelings after popping the question following Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's announcement of their engagement on August 26.
Travis Kelce vows to be loyal to his lover, Taylor Swift, while also being overly theatrical.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end couldn't contain his happiness when discussing the couple's milestone for the first time after the 35-year-old couple announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on August 26.
During the Sept. 3 episode of their New Heights podcast, Travis said to brother Jason Kelce, "I appreciate everyone that reached out and sent something, as well as all the posts and all the excitement that's been going on. Telling people who I'm going to spend the rest of my life with has been a lot of fun! It has been fantastic."
He also went on to concur with Jason that naming someone their "fiancée" gave him a particular sensation, stating that that their recent outing at the University of Cincinnati Bearcats' football game as a couple was a huge one.
"It was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancée to a few of my teammates," Travis continued, "so yeah, it was pretty cool. "It's exciting times, and I still get enthusiastic.
Travis' kind remarks follow Taylor's quip that "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married" next to pictures of the couple's lavish engagement.
Along with the caption, Taylor added a dynamite emoji, or "TNT," as a subtle reference to the couple's initials.
Travis Kelce detailed his deep affection for Taylor Swift shortly before their engagement announcement, describing their time together as feeling like they are "just regular people" and "two people that are in love" when not in the public eye.
New Heights co-host Travis Kelce described his relationship with Taylor Swift as "organic" and a "total touchdown" in cultural impact. He stated they are both fun-loving individuals with shared values and fell in love based on their connection in person. Kelce's public pursuit of Swift, initiated after a failed meet-cute during her 2023 Eras Tour stop in Kansas City, ultimately led to Swift reaching out to him in July 2023.
Taylor Swift described her experience with Travis Kelce's public romantic gesture as reminiscent of an '80s John Hughes movie, where Kelce stood outside her window with a boombox. Initially finding the gesture "crazy," Swift later viewed it as a fated moment aligning with her lifelong desires expressed in her songwriting. Kelce, conversely, stated he understood Swift's desires, having listened to her songs at the Eras Tour and knowing how to approach her.
