Julio Enciso was overcome with emotion after helping Paraguay secure a dramatic place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16, dedicating the memorable victory to his late grandfather during a heartfelt post match interview.
Paraguay defeated Germany in the Round of 32 on Monday, June 29, advancing after a tense 4-3 penalty shootout. Enciso scored his side's only goal during regulation before becoming emotional while reflecting on the achievement.

"I remember sitting next to my grandpa. I dedicate this to him. I'm sure he would be proud of me," Enciso said.
The 21 year old described the victory as both a blessing and a tribute to the man who helped nurture his love for football. Looking back on the memories they shared, he said Paraguay's remarkable triumph felt like a gift from both God and his grandfather.
Enciso also expressed his joy for supporters across the country, calling it the greatest day of his life. He said he hoped the result brought the same happiness to every Paraguayan celebrating the team's success.
