Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the 2026 UEFA Champions League final on Wednesday after a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich. The result at the Allianz Arena gave the defending champions a 6-5 aggregate victory, despite a late goal from the German side. PSG will now face Arsenal in their second consecutive final, which is set to take place in Budapest.

Ousmane Dembélé gave PSG an early lead in the third minute, finishing into the top left corner after a quick exchange between Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Fabián Ruiz in midfield.

Bayern equalised in stoppage time through a 90+4 minute goal, but the German side were unable to overturn the aggregate score as PSG advanced 6-5 overall following last week’s 5-4 first-leg victory in Paris.

Bayern had earlier appealed for possible handball decisions involving Nuno Mendes and João Neves, while Jonathan Tah came close before halftime with a header wide of the post.

PSG will now face Arsenal in the Champions League final in Budapest on May 30 after the English side eliminated Atlético Madrid in the other semifinal.

PSG and Bayern were the top-scoring sides in the competition with 43 and 42 goals before Wednesday's game, respectively. Bayern Munich had won five of its previous seven meetings with Paris Saint-Germain in Munich and was chasing a repeat of the Champions League, Bundesliga and German Cup treble it achieved in 2020 and 2013.

But PSG once again left Munich with positive memories. The French club had already celebrated its Champions League triumph in the city last season after defeating Inter Milan 5-0 in the final to secure its first European title under its Qatari ownership.

A largely unchanged squad has now reached another Champions League final, with the chance to defend the trophy later this month.

Despite the celebration, PSG faces significant selection concerns heading into the final weeks of the season. Achraf Hakimi remains out with a hamstring injury, and the club will be sweating on the fitness of several key squad members as they balance their Ligue 1 title charge with preparation for the showdown in Budapest.
