Ruud van Nistelrooy has spoken out following his departure from Leicester City, expressing disappointment over the lack of communication from the club's leadership after their relegation was confirmed. The former Manchester United striker, who joined the coaching team at Leicester, revealed that he had requested talks with the club's hierarchy immediately after the drop, but received no response for several weeks.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Van Nistelrooy took time to thank those he worked with during his tenure. In a statement, he said, "I would like to personally thank the Leicester City players, coaches, academy and all the staff I have worked with for their professionalism and dedication during my time at the club. I also want to thank the fans for their support and take this opportunity to wish the club well for the future."

As Leicester prepares to begin their pre-season training on Monday, the club announced that the current first-team coaching staff will oversee the team's preparation until a new manager is appointed. This interim arrangement aims to maintain stability during a time of transition.

The club is also facing off-the-pitch challenges. Last month, the Premier League charged Leicester City with alleged breaches of the English Football League's financial regulations related to the 2023/24 season. The charges stem from their time in the Championship, which has drawn increased scrutiny from league authorities. If the club is found guilty of these breaches, they could face a significant penalty, including a possible points deduction that may affect their standing in the upcoming season.

Leicester City has not yet commented in detail on the charges but has stated that they are cooperating fully with the investigation. The financial allegations, combined with the uncertainty around the managerial position, have placed the club in a difficult position ahead of the new campaign.

As fans wait for updates on a new managerial appointment and the outcome of the Premier League's investigation, the mood remains tense. Van Nistelrooy's remarks highlight a period of turbulence behind the scenes, raising questions about the club's direction and leadership during a crucial rebuilding phase.
