The forward, who won an NBA ring in 2023 with the Denver Nuggets, has revealed that he has always fallen to "the constant lure of the flesh". He did so on his own podcast, 'Curious Mike'. The lives of professional NBA players are often enough to write a book or make a movie about. Many of them had complicated childhoods and troubled families before becoming the millionaire stars they are today.  Such is the case of Michael Porter Jr. (27), who after a career with the Nuggets was traded to the Brooklyn Nets about a month ago.

Alyssa Thomas recorded 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists to become the first player in WNBA history to notch three consecutive triple-doubles as the Phoenix Mercury defeated the Indiana Fever 95-60 on Thursday night for their third straight win. Thomas secured her 19th career triple-double with 3:47 left in the game, assisting DeWanna Bonner on a corner three-pointer. Over her last three outings, Thomas has totaled 41 points, 33 rebounds, and 32 assists. Bonner led Phoenix with a season-high 23 points, while Satou Sabally contributed 15 points and eight rebounds, and Kahleah Copper added 11 points.

Reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City will play host to the Houston Rockets on October 21 to tip off the league's 80th season, NBA officials announced on Tuesday. The Thunder will raise their championship banner before reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his teammates face the Kevin Durant-led Rockets.

Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has signed a multi-year contract extension with the team he guided to an NBA title in 2024, the club announced on Friday. Terms of the deal were not revealed but the move extends the 37-year-old American's stay with the club after serving as an assistant coach from 2019 through 2022.
