Alyssa Thomas recorded 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists to become the first player in WNBA history to notch three consecutive triple-doubles as the Phoenix Mercury defeated the Indiana Fever 95-60 on Thursday night for their third straight win. Thomas secured her 19th career triple-double with 3:47 left in the game, assisting DeWanna Bonner on a corner three-pointer. Over her last three outings, Thomas has totaled 41 points, 33 rebounds, and 32 assists. Bonner led Phoenix with a season-high 23 points, while Satou Sabally contributed 15 points and eight rebounds, and Kahleah Copper added 11 points.

 

For Indiana, Sophie Cunningham scored 18 points on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc, while Kelsey Mitchell had 12 points. Caitlin Clark missed her ninth straight game with a right groin injury. The Fever cut Phoenix's lead to 53-44 early in the third quarter after Cunningham hit consecutive three-pointers, but the Mercury responded with a 14-0 run capped by a Sami Whitcomb triple, extending their advantage to 23 points with 2:39 remaining in the period. Indiana went over four minutes without scoring in the quarter and managed only 11 points in the frame. The season series between the teams is tied at 1-1, with the final regular-season meeting scheduled for September 2 in Phoenix.

In other action, Dearica Hamby scored 21 points, Rickea Jackson added 20, and Kelsey Plum had 18 as the Los Angeles Sparks topped the Connecticut Sun 102-91 for their eighth win in nine games. Los Angeles, now 14-15, reached the 100-point mark for the fifth time in six games, with six players finishing in double figures. Cameron Brink scored all 11 of her points in the second half, while Azura Stevens and Julie Allemand each added 10 points.

Allemand achieved her first career triple-double with 1:11 left in the fourth quarter on a layup, finishing with 10 rebounds and 11 assists to go along with her points. For Connecticut, Tina Charles and Marina Mabrey each scored 19 points, Bria Hartley had 16, and Leila Lacan chipped in 10 points and seven assists. The Sun shot 7-of-14 from deep in the first half to lead 51-49 at the break. Plum, who did not score until late in the third quarter, hit back-to-back key threes in the second half to help seal the Sparks' win. Los Angeles finished 11-of-25 from beyond the arc and 21-of-26 from the free-throw line.
