Seventeen people are missing, while 28 others have been rescued after a tourist boat sank in the Red Sea. The boat with 31 tourists and 14 crew - who were all Egyptians - sent a distress signal at 05:30 (03:30 GMT), according to the governor of Red Sea province. Authorities have not indicated the possible cause of the incident.

Saudi Arabia's new national airline, Riyadh Air, announced on Wednesday it has ordered 60 narrow-body aircraft from Airbus, as it prepares for takeoff next year. The carrier, created last year, has reached "an agreement to purchase 60 Airbus A321neo single-aisle aircraft in the latest step towards its maiden flight in 2025", it said in a statement.

In northern Gaza,  Israeli forces have trapped an estimated 100,000 civilians. According to the Palestinian Civil Emergency Service, the intense three-week Israeli assault on the region has left residents of Jabalia, Beit Lahiya, and Beit Hanoun without access to critical medical, food, and fuel supplies.
