The global phenomenon that is BTS has officially announced its long-awaited return. The seven-member K-pop sensation is set to release a new album in the spring of 2026, accompanied by a global tour, marking their first major group activity since 2022. The announcement was made during a livestream on Weverse, the fan platform operated by their management company, Hybe.

This appearance marked the first time all seven members—Jin, RM, V, Jimin, J-Hope, Jung Kook, and Suga—had been live together since 2022, delighting millions of fans worldwide. In their statement, the group emphasized that the upcoming album would reflect the individual perspectives and ideas of each member. "We are approaching this album with the same mindset we had when we first began," they shared, promising authenticity and unity in their next chapter.

The members have recently completed their mandatory military service, a requirement for all able-bodied men in South Korea. While six members served in the army, Suga fulfilled his duty as a social service agent. Jin and J-Hope were the first to be discharged, in June and October of 2024, respectively. Now that their service is complete, the group is ready to reconnect with fans and the global music scene.

Their 2026 album will be the first since "Proof" in 2022, following the Japanese compilation "BTS, The Best" in 2021 and the full studio album "Be" in 2020. The world tour will be the group's first in nearly four years, and expectations are sky-high. BTS's return marks not only a reunion for the band but a cultural event with implications for music, fashion, and global entertainment.

South Korea's decision in 2020 to allow pop stars to delay enlistment until 30 years of age was largely viewed as a nod to BTS's massive influence. Yet even with this extension, the group remained committed to fulfilling their national duty. Their return to music now signifies not just a continuation, but a powerful new era for BTS and their ARMY.
