Actress Selma Blair has been arrested following an alleged violent incident aboard a Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York, during which two flight attendants reportedly suffered injuries.

The incident occurred Sunday night, October 11. Blair, 54, was allegedly involved in a confrontation with crew members and had to be restrained before the plane landed.

A law enforcement source told CBS News that one flight attendant suffered bite marks while another sustained a laceration. Both reported injuries, and one was taken to hospital for further evaluation, according to the Port Authority Police.

TMZ reported that Blair allegedly tried to open the aircraft door while the plane was in the air, prompting the confrontation with crew members. The precise circumstances surrounding the incident have not been confirmed by authorities.

After the plane landed, Port Authority police and the FBI responded. Blair was transported to Jamaica Hospital for medical evaluation. She allegedly kicked a police officer in the head while in the ambulance and later assaulted a nurse at the hospital, according to reports.

The FBI is investigating a potential assault connected to the flight. Reports also indicate that Blair faces federal assault charges relating to the alleged attack on a flight attendant, alongside state charges stemming from the reported incidents involving the officer and nurse.

Blair's representative said the actress had experienced a medical emergency.

"Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition," the representative said.

Delta Airlines also addressed the incident, stating, "Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first."
The reported incident has drawn attention to Blair's previous experience aboard a flight in 2016. At the time, the Cruel Intentions actress was removed from a plane travelling from Cancun to Los Angeles and taken to hospital following an outburst.

Blair later apologised, explaining that she had mixed alcohol with medication during a trip with her son, Arthur, and his father, Jason Bleick.

Blair, known for films including Legally Blonde, Cruel Intentions and Hellboy, revealed in 2018 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
