Kendall Jenner has finally addressed one of the long-running rumors surrounding her friendship with Cara Delevingne, and she did it with a joke.
In the trailer for season eight of The Kardashians, released Thursday, Jenner is asked about her love life before the conversation turns to speculation that she and Delevingne were once romantically involved.
"There's definitely a rumor that Cara and I dated, which is not true," Jenner says in the trailer.
The 30-year-old model then brings up the rumor while sitting alongside Delevingne at what appears to be a fashion event. Jenner jokes, "By the way, I have nothing against having sex with Cara."
She follows it with, "Never say never, right?" prompting Delevingne, 34, to burst into laughter.
The pair have been close friends since the early 2010s and even have their own nickname, "CaKe." Jenner previously credited Delevingne with helping her find her footing in the modeling industry, recalling that Delevingne was one of the biggest names known outside fashion when Jenner was starting out.
Despite years of speculation about their relationship, Jenner has previously pushed back against wider rumors about her sexuality. During an appearance on Owen Thiele's In Your Dreams podcast in January, she addressed claims that she was secretly a lesbian.
"Knowing myself, I think at this point in my life I'd be out if I was," Jenner said, while also criticizing the way people discuss sexuality online.
She has nevertheless said she does not want to completely rule out future experiences with women, explaining that she is "not closing doors to experiences in life."
Delevingne, meanwhile, has been open about her sexuality and described herself as a "very proud lesbian" in a May interview with Variety. She has been dating British singer Minke since 2022 and previously had relationships with St. Vincent and Ashley Benson.
Jenner is currently linked to actor Jacob Elordi, although he does not appear to be a major focus of the season eight trailer. The reality star has generally kept her romantic life private.
The new season of The Kardashians premieres October 8 on Hulu.
