Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have officially taken their relationship to the next level, exchanging vows in an intimate civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on August 11.
The couple, who began dating after meeting in Madrid in 2016, confirmed their marriage through social media on the same day. Their wedding comes nearly a year after they announced their engagement in August 2025, when Rodríguez shared a photograph of her engagement ring alongside Ronaldo's hand.
At the time, the model and influencer accompanied the announcement with the words, "Yes, I do," expressing her commitment to the football star.
The marriage marks another significant chapter in a relationship that has grown alongside their expanding family. Ronaldo and Rodríguez are parents to daughters Alana, seven, and Bella, three. The family also includes Ronaldo's eldest son, Cristiano Jr., 16, and his eight year old twins, Eva Maria and Mateo.
The couple previously experienced profound loss when their baby son, Ángel, died in April 2022. Despite the tragedy, they have continued to build a close family life and frequently share glimpses of their experiences with their children.
In the weeks leading up to their wedding, Rodríguez offered followers a look at their family holiday. Among the moments she shared was a photograph of Cristiano Jr. enjoying a jetskiing outing. She praised his abilities, writing that he demonstrated his talent in everything he pursued.
Family has remained an important part of Ronaldo's life as he approaches the later stages of his football career. The 41 year old Portuguese star has previously acknowledged that retirement will eventually give him more time to focus on his children and other interests.
Ronaldo has admitted that walking away from football will be difficult, given how central the sport has been throughout his career. However, he has also spoken about the opportunity retirement will provide to spend more time with his family and be more present in his children's lives.
For Rodríguez, who has documented much of her relationship and family life publicly, the marriage represents the culmination of a romance that has unfolded in the international spotlight.
Their wedding also adds a new dimension to a partnership that has survived public scrutiny, personal challenges and the demands of Ronaldo's global football career. After years together, a growing family and an engagement announced with a simple declaration of love, Ronaldo and Rodríguez have now officially become husband and wife.
