Anne Hathaway has responded after online speculation claimed her baby bump was fake.
The 43-year-old actress, currently expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, turned heads at the Los Angeles premiere of The End of Oak Street on August 9. Wearing a silk crop top and low-rise jeans, Hathaway proudly showed her bump, but social media quickly lit up with comments suggesting it didn't look real.
"I'm sorry but that looks fake," one TikTok user wrote, while another added, "It does look fake. There's body makeup on it."
Hathaway wasted no time addressing the chatter. On August 10, she posted a video on Instagram of herself preparing for the red carpet, captioning it: "Fake hair, real bump." Fans rallied to her defense, praising her confidence and calling her "the most beautiful pregnant woman in the world."
This marks Hathaway's third pregnancy. She and Shulman, married since 2012, are parents to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6. The actress announced the news in June with a playful Instagram video, cradling her belly in a flowing white dress and captioning it, "x Baby, I'm yours x."
Hathaway has been candid about her journey. Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers in July, she described the pregnancy as "amazing" and admitted she was "shocked" it happened again at her age. "We were so shocked it went this way, so we're calling this one our buzzer-beater," she laughed.
Beyond her pregnancy, Hathaway has also made headlines for her maternity fashion. In June, she accidentally wore a red dress backwards, later laughing about the mistake on Instagram.
The End of Oak Street is set to hit theaters internationally on August 12 and in North America on August 14.
