Shawn Mendes has officially confirmed his relationship with Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine, sharing a sweet Instagram post for her 31st birthday on August 4.
The 27-year-old singer wrote, "Feliz aniversário my baby. You are a light and a mãe in every room you walk into. Not to be tooooo sappy but you've truly changed my life, and I am so so grateful for you."
He added a message in Portuguese: "Eu te amo muito muito muitoo," which translates to "I love you so, so, so much."
Mendes' post included several clips from Casa Amarela Providência in Rio de Janeiro, where Marquezine celebrated with local children. One video showed kids rushing to hug her, while another captured her singing and dancing as they appeared to serenade her with "Happy Birthday."
Mendes also shared a photo of himself smiling with children at the center, and a final snap of Marquezine holding her dog.
The couple was first rumored to be dating in December 2025, and since then they've been spotted together in both the United States and Brazil. This Instagram tribute marks the first time Mendes has posted Marquezine on his main grid, effectively "hard-launching" their relationship.
Mendes previously dated Camila Cabello on and off between 2019 and 2023, briefly rekindling their romance before moving on. He was also linked to Sabrina Carpenter in early 2023. In October 2024, Mendes spoke candidly about his approach to dating, telling fans at a Colorado concert that he wanted to take the pressure off finding "The One."
"For me, I've just been trying to take that pressure off... We all need a little bit of cuddling, a little bit of hugging," he said at the time.
