Linda Blair, best known for her role in The Exorcist, had her Southern California property searched on Friday, July 31, as part of an investigation into a reported kennel operation.

Officials from the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control, along with zoning and planning agencies, arrived early in the morning under an inspection warrant. The goal, according to county officials, was to "inspect this property for buildings and structures associated with a kennel operation reported to have more than 100 dogs."

Blair, 67, has long been active in animal rescue through her Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation. She reportedly holds a permit to house around 60 dogs, but sources told TMZ that authorities found closer to 200 on the property. No animals were removed, and Blair was described as "extremely cooperative" during the inspection.

The county noted that the kennel's permits had expired in 2023 and said previous attempts to contact the owner had gone unanswered. The inspection focused on animal welfare, safety conditions, and compliance with county codes. "Our priority is the safety and well-being of both the animals on the property and the people who may be working or residing here," the department said in a statement.

Blair addressed the raid herself in an Instagram post later that day, writing that she and the animals were "good in lieu of our surprise visit in 105° heat." She added, "Turns out we just have some paperwork to do and some diagrams but as everybody knows, I'm looking to move so I can be more educational and help more animals. I'd rather move forward. And I always say you know a good old-fashioned letter of contact always works."

The actress emphasized her commitment to animal rescue, urging followers to "be safe, save lives, support animal rescue cause we're all fighting to save lives."
Authorities confirmed the matter remains under investigation and said they could not provide further details at this time.
