Kate Cassidy is making changes to the tattoos she got in memory of her late boyfriend, Liam Payne.
The 27-year-old influencer shared a TikTok video this week showing herself undergoing laser removal at Skin Club Miami. She explained that while the tattoos hold deep meaning, she wasn't happy with how they were done.
"Decided to get some tattoos removed that were done poorly, will be getting redone eventually," she wrote.
Cassidy had inked angel wings on her fingers and the number "444" after Payne's death in October 2024. The One Direction star died at 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. His cause of death was ruled "polytrauma," meaning multiple injuries to several organs.
The angel wings were tied to a tribute Cassidy posted days after his passing, calling him her "angel." She also revealed Payne had written a note about their future together, saying, "Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444."
In her TikTok, Cassidy stressed that she isn't erasing the memories, just fixing the design. "Obviously, these tattoos are really special to me. I am going to get them redone, but I'm going to get them really faint and fine line," she said, adding that the current placement made it hard to wear rings.
When one commenter suggested she "don't love him no more," Cassidy pushed back. "I knew some of you guys would be offended at the fact that I am deciding to laser off these tattoos," she replied.
"The only reason that I am getting these tattoos off is literally just because they are too thick to my liking. They're the very first tattoos I ever received, and I went somewhere really random."
Cassidy has been open about her grief since Payne's death, often sharing memories and tributes online.
For now, she says the tattoos will be redone in a finer style, keeping the meaning intact while changing the look. "The meaning behind all my tattoos are so, so special to me," she explained. "I'm not lasering them off for any other means other than the fact that I'm gonna get them redone somewhere else that has experience in fine line tattoos."
