Tom Holland knows his run as Spider-Man won't last forever and he says Marvel already has a plan for what happens next.
"There's a whole plan that we have been working on since we finished Spider-Man: No Way Home," Holland revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. "It's laid out. It's gonna change for sure, but I have a really clear vision to the passing on of the baton, and I think it's really exciting."
The 30-year-old actor first suited up as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War back in 2016, before leading Spider-Man: Homecoming the following year. Since then, he's appeared in Infinity War, Endgame, Far From Home and No Way Home. He's back again in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which hit theaters July 31.
Holland admitted he's still open to playing the role "as long as they have me," but he's equally focused on helping the next actor step in. "In the way that Robert Downey was such a mentor for me in my first three movies, I would love to be that person for whoever is next," he said, referencing his former MCU co-star.
Fans have long speculated about Miles Morales making the jump to live action, and Holland has voiced support for that idea. "I have a desire to bring Miles Morales to the screen," he explained, adding that he wants to "shepherd the lucky young kid who gets that job." He's also mentioned Spider-Gwen or Spider-Woman as possible successors.
In another interview, Holland even dropped a name: Owen Cooper. "Owen Cooper would be awesome," he told Esquire. "Obviously he's super-talented and the talk of the town right now."
