Jessie J and Chanan Safir Colman have confirmed they quietly ended their relationship after five years together. The singer and the retired basketball player, who share three‑year‑old son Sky Safir Cornish Colman, revealed the news in a joint Instagram statement on July 20.
"Chanan and I decided to end our romantic relationship some time ago," Jessie and Chanan wrote in a joint post. "It has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co‑parenting environment for our son, and ourselves."
The couple emphasized that their priority remains raising Sky in a supportive environment. "We will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Sky's Mum and Dad," they added. "So if you see us out and about together as a family, or posting each other on socials every now and again. That's exactly what we are doing."
Jessie and Chanan first connected in 2021, with some reports suggesting they met through the celebrity dating app Raya. Their relationship became public in April 2022.
The pair often spoke about their bond but admitted they were in no rush to marry. Jessie explained in 2025 that she hoped to wed when Sky was old enough to understand and be part of the celebration. "We have a child. I feel like that is the most locked in that we can feel with each other," she said at the time.
Their relationship also endured difficult moments, including Jessie's breast cancer diagnosis in 2025. Chanan stood by her side during treatment, with Jessie later expressing gratitude for her family's support. She announced she was cancer‑free in May 2026, describing the moment as an "incredible perspective."
Despite their separation, Jessie and Chanan remain united in their dedication to Sky. As they put it, their plan moving forward is "raising and loving Sky together, supported with a positive friendship."
