Justin Bieber has officially joined the lineup for the first-ever halftime show at the FIFA World Cup Final.
FIFA and Global Citizen announced on Wednesday, July 8, that the Grammy-winning singer will perform during the championship match on July 19, becoming the fourth co-headliner for the historic event.
"The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I'm grateful to be part of this Halftime Show, and even more grateful knowing it's already helping expand access to education for children around the world," Bieber said in a statement.
The halftime show will feature Bieber alongside Madonna, Shakira and BTS. The lineup was curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and will also include performances from Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus, a choir made up of elementary school students from a public school in Staten Island, New York.
Beyond the entertainment, the performance is tied to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative that aims to raise $100 million to improve access to quality education and football opportunities for children worldwide. FIFA has pledged that $1 from every ticket sold during the 2026 World Cup will be donated to the fund.
The World Cup Final will take place at MetLife Stadium, also known as New York New Jersey Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.
Global Citizen co-founder and CEO Hugh Evans described the event as one of the largest gatherings of artists united for a charitable cause since Live Aid. He said the halftime show has the potential to become the most-watched 11-minute music performance in broadcast history while helping create opportunities for children around the world.
Bieber has remained engaged throughout the World Cup, recently encouraging fans to support Canada's national team during its Round of 16 match against Morocco. He shared a message on Instagram asking followers to send their love and prayers to the team before the match.
The singer has also stayed busy with other projects. Earlier this month, he live streamed his 2026 Coachella performance on YouTube and released his live album, SWAG LIVE FROM COACHELLA (WEEKEND 2).
In June, Bieber also made a surprise appearance at the 2026 NHL Draft, where he represented his hometown team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and announced Penn State forward Gavin McKenna as the first overall pick. The lifelong Leafs fan told the crowd it was a moment he had dreamed about since childhood.
