Lewis Hamilton has credited girlfriend Kim Kardashian for making him "a happier man" as he prepares for this weekend's British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The Ferrari driver made the rare comment about his personal life during a fan event alongside fellow Formula One drivers. When one supporter asked, "You've been a happier man recently, why's that? Could that be a girlfriend?" Hamilton smiled as the crowd reacted.
Broadcaster David Croft then joked that the fan only wanted to know "if Kimi needs two towels or not," referring to a viral moment at the Monaco Grand Prix when Kardashian was seen using Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli's towel after the podium celebrations.
Laughing, Hamilton replied, "Yeah, that's a good one."
The seven-time world champion first spoke about Ferrari's progress since joining the team, saying, "Once you spend a year with this team, Ferrari is the most iconic team of all time, and they've had a difficult period of time. It's such an amazing team and they've been so welcoming. The first year was obviously very tough but to finally see the hard work we've been putting in, it's finally got us back to where we want to be."
He then answered the original question directly, adding: "And of course, of course it's Kim."
Hamilton and Kardashian were first linked earlier this year, although they have known each other for more than a decade after first meeting at an event in 2014. Their relationship became public in recent months, with Kardashian sharing photos of the pair together before making her first appearance in the Formula One paddock at the Monaco Grand Prix.
She watched the race from the Ferrari garage alongside her sister, Khloé Kardashian, as Hamilton secured a second-place finish. After the race, he acknowledged her support, saying: "It's amazing to have her come this weekend and have the support."
He added, "It's amazing to have good people around you and good people supporting you. She does that for me every day."
According to reports, Hamilton has also spent time with Kardashian's four children as the couple continue their relationship despite their busy schedules.
