Hailee Steinfeld is sharing a personal reflection on how motherhood has reshaped her perspective, especially when it comes to self-image and the example she hopes to set for her daughter.

In a fan Q&A published on June 12 through her newsletter community Beau Society, the 29-year-old actress opened up about life since welcoming her baby girl with husband Josh Allen. The couple announced the birth of their daughter on April 2.

During the question-and-answer session, a fan asked what her daughter had already taught her despite still being very young. Steinfeld said the answer was not simple, but one lesson stood out more than anything else.

She explained that her daughter has already shown her the importance of practicing unconditional self-love. While she admitted she is still learning what that looks like in daily life, she said motherhood has made her more aware of how deeply children absorb what they see from their parents.

Steinfeld reflected that the way she views herself will directly influence how her daughter learns to view herself. She described this realization as both simple and powerful, noting that it has already begun to shape how she thinks about her own confidence and self-worth.

The Sinners star and Allen first announced they were expecting their child in December. At the time, Steinfeld shared the news through her Substack newsletter in a post titled "Special Delivery," expressing gratitude and excitement about becoming a parent.

She later marked her 29th birthday with a post that included a video montage of memorable moments from her previous year. The final clip showed her standing in the snow while cradling her baby bump, with Allen seen kissing her stomach. The couple later reshared the moment on social media, where Allen expressed his love for her in a comment.

Allen has also spoken publicly about becoming a father, saying earlier this year that it is an experience he looks forward to with pride and excitement. He acknowledged that parenthood will involve learning and adjusting along the way, but said it is the most meaningful role he will ever take on.

Steinfeld has shared similar sentiments about the transition into motherhood. In a February newsletter post, she described the emotional experience of preparing for her daughter's arrival and the sense of wonder that came with it. She wrote about feeling that her world was about to expand in ways she could not fully describe.

Steinfeld and Allen first began dating in 2023 and later married in Santa Barbara on May 31, 2025.
