The Devil Wears Prada actress, 43, recently revealed that she almost became blind in her 30s due to an early-onset visual problem.

"I was half blind for 10 years—age 30 to 40," Anne recounted during a recent visit on the New York Times' Popcast program. "I had an early onset cataract and it affected my vision so much that I was basically legally blind out of my left eye."

So it was a whole new world when she had surgery to repair the problem.

"I didn't realize how bad it had gotten until I could finally see the full spectrum," she said. "I have calmed down since then. I hadn't realized it was stressing my nervous system. Maybe it isn't for everyone, but it worked for me."

And because she was able to cure it, Anne—mother of Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6, with husband Adam Shulman—emphasized that she values her eyesight more than ever.

"Every day I wake up and I get to see the way that I do; it's a miracle," she stated, adding about her surgery, "I genuinely am like, ‘Oh, two generations back that wouldn’t have been an option for me.’ So I do feel very connected to that kind of a miracle.”

Anne is far from the only star who has revealed a personal health fight. Dolly Parton acknowledged in March her continuous fight with secret health concerns, which forced her to postpone her Las Vegas residency.

"I've not been touring, as you know," Dolly stated during an in-person performance at her Dollywood theme park in March. "I've had a few little health issues, and we're taking good care of them."

And while Dolly didn’t ruminate on what got her down, she did share how she got right back up.

"I just got to the point where I needed to rebuild myself spiritually, emotionally, and physically," she explained. "All is OK. It did not slow me down."
