Teddi Mellencamp has shared a raw and personal update on her health journey, posting images of her surgery scars while asking fans for advice on what to do with her hair as it grows back during cancer treatment.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 44, posted a video on Instagram speaking openly about the changes she's dealing with after multiple surgeries. "You guys have been so much help in giving me amazing referrals for great wigs that I've been using for the past however many months," she said.
"But my question now is... now what? The hair is too long for the wigs and I'm sick of the wigs, but like, what are we supposed to do here?"
She also joked, "Someone send tips," adding that she already knows she needs her roots done.
Alongside the video, Mellencamp shared a photo of her shaved head showing visible scars from brain surgery, along with an older image of her long blonde hair for contrast. She pointed out how much her hair has grown back since treatment, saying it now resembles her young son's haircut.
"It's not lost on me how much my hair has grown since the brain surgeries," she wrote, adding with humour that she doesn't quite have the confidence to pull off the style.
Mellencamp was first diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022, which later spread to her brain and lungs. Since then, she has undergone multiple surgeries and continues with immunotherapy as part of her treatment plan.
While she previously shared encouraging updates about her scans showing no detectable cancer, she has clarified that she is still not officially in remission and remains under close medical care.
Fans quickly responded with support, with many praising her short hair and encouraging her to embrace it rather than cover it with wigs. Some suggested she experiment with styling it short, while others simply sent messages of encouragement.
Mellencamp, who co-parents three children with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, has continued to share both the difficult and lighter moments of her recovery. In recent updates, she's also shown playful moments with her children, including them helping style her hair.
