Dakota Sweeney, the Summer House star's cousin, was arrested in Missouri and charged with allegedly murdering their grandmother Gayle R. Wilson, Carroll County authorities told TMZ.

The incident occurred at a residence in Carrollton around 10:30 p.m. on April 22, according to a probable cause statement.

Following reports of a homicide, police arrived at the scene to discover Gayle, 75, dead inside the house. Dakota was still present at the time, as was a witness—identified as Dakota's other grandparent, presumably Gayle's husband Roger Wilson—who told police they saw the 28-year-old shoot Gayle with a handgun, according to the document.

The witness claimed that Dakota and Gayle had argued earlier in the night about Dakota "not assisting with chores around the residence." But the situation turned deadly later on, when Dakota—who had been "seated on a separate couch next to" Gayle for nearly 30 minutes, according to the document—suddenly shot her "without warning."

Dakota was then arrested, and officials discovered a holster on his body. He was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

He is still in custody without bond, according to online records reviewed by E! News, and his bond hearing is scheduled for May 6.

Gayle, whose children included West's father Bruce Wilson and Dakota's mother Kelly Sweeney, was remembered in an obituary that praised her life and how she "found joy in shaping the world around her."

"Gayle lived a life," the obituary continued, "marked by creativity, kindness, and cherished moments."

The fatal incident occurred one night before West filmed the highly anticipated Summer House season 10 reunion, in which he and Amanda Batula are expected to address the cast—including his ex and Amanda's best friend Ciara Miller—for the first time since confirming their relationship.
