Lana Del Rey's former fiancé Clayton Johnson has shared his honest reaction to her marriage to Jeremy Dufrene.

Speaking on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Johnson reflected on seeing someone he once planned a future with move on. While he acknowledged that it hasn't been entirely easy, he made it clear that his feelings are rooted in care rather than bitterness.

"Obviously, she's married now," he said, before adding, "And I think that when you love somebody, and it comes from a pure place... for her to find her person and for her to be as happy as she is, like she is glowing, nothing could make me happier for her."

At the same time, he admitted there's still a personal side to processing that reality. "It might sting a little bit, to be honest with you," Johnson said, noting that true love makes it difficult to feel resentment.

"If you really love somebody in the purest form, how could you be upset at that?"

Johnson and Del Rey got engaged in 2020 after reconnecting during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period he says intensified their bond.

"I think COVID was a lot like dog years... one month in COVID time is really like one year in the real world," he explained, describing how the unusual circumstances fast-tracked their relationship while still feeling natural.

The two had first met at church before reconnecting years later, finding common ground in their values and shared interests. "We just really connected over what we wanted our futures to look like," he said.

Despite their split, Johnson spoke respectfully about Del Rey, emphasizing that there is no bad blood between them. "I have nothing but amazing things to say about her," he shared, adding that he continues to respect her privacy.

He also addressed speculation around his appearance on a canceled season of The Bachelorette, shutting down any suggestion of ulterior motives.

"I truly don't have any place in my heart for any sort of revenge, any hate," he said. "It did not come from a place of wanting to get back at her by any means. This was for me."

Looking back, Johnson described the relationship as a significant chapter in his life, one that remains meaningful even as both have moved forward on separate paths.
