Sophie Cunningham recently marked a personal milestone by choosing to be baptized again ahead of the upcoming WNBA season.

The Indiana Fever guard, 29, shared a video of the moment on TikTok on April 15, showing her baptism at Christ's Church of the Valley in Peoria, Arizona. In her caption, Cunningham explained that although she had been baptized as a child, she felt called to take the step again as an adult, this time on her own terms. She described the experience as meaningful and uplifting, expressing gratitude for the moment.

Cunningham has been open about her faith for years, often sharing messages and reflections rooted in her beliefs. On social media, she frequently posts scripture and encourages her followers to remain grounded in faith. One of her pinned messages references Romans 8:28, emphasizing the idea that all things work together for good for those who believe.

Her public expressions of faith have often coincided with key moments in her career. During the Fever's push toward the playoffs last September, she shared a message encouraging strength, courage, and boldness, noting that she believed something positive was unfolding for both the team and its supporters.

The baptism comes shortly after Cunningham agreed to return to Indiana on a one-year contract reportedly worth $665,000. The deal keeps her with the franchise as they prepare for another competitive season, where she will continue playing alongside rising star Caitlin Clark.

In a statement following her re-signing, Cunningham expressed excitement about the upcoming season and her continued connection with the team's fan base. She suggested that the next chapter could be another memorable one and said she is eager to get back on the court.

Before joining the Fever, Cunningham spent several seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, where she established herself as a reliable contributor. Off the court, she has also expanded into media, launching a podcast titled Show Me Something alongside television personality West Wilson.

As she prepares for the new season, Cunningham's recent baptism highlights a moment of personal reflection and renewal, aligning with both her spiritual journey and her continued professional growth in the league.
