Pop superstar Pink has been announced as the host of the 79th Annual Tony Awards, set to air live from New York City's Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 7. The ceremony, which celebrates the best of the 2025–2026 Broadway season will air from 8 to 11 p.m. EST on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
"It is the honor of an entire lifetime to host a night celebrating the literal hardest working people in showbiz," Pink said in a statement. "Broadway has shaped my life and how I put my own shows together — it is a community that is supportive, and inclusive, and full of talent and love. These people give magic every single day, and I cannot wait to celebrate them with the entire world."
Although she has never performed on Broadway, Pink is known for her acrobatic, high-energy live shows and multiple chart-topping hits. She has had 15 top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including four No. 1 hits, and three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200.
Pink shared that her teenage daughter Willow, who turns 15 on June 2, played a role in her decision to host. "When I was asked to host the Tonys, I immediately thought, 'I have to get permission from my daughter,'" she said.
"When I asked my daughter, she was really excited about being able to have a ticket to go to the Tonys, so I'm hosting the Tonys, and I'm really, really, excited and very nervous because that girl is a tough crowd!"
The Tony Awards executive producers Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall, and Jack Sussman praised Pink as "a fearless artist whose powerhouse voice, electrifying stage presence, and undeniable authenticity embody the very spirit of live performance and theatre."
CBS executive Mackenzie Mitchell added, "Her dynamic presence and deep respect for live performance will undoubtedly shape a powerful and memorable broadcast that celebrates the remarkable achievements of this Broadway season."
This marks the first time Pink will host a major awards show, joining a list of notable emcees including Cynthia Erivo, Ariana DeBose, and Hugh Jackman. Nominations for the 2026 awards will be announced on Tuesday, May 5.
