The security guard at the center of a growing controversy involving Chappell Roan and the daughter of soccer star Jorginho is speaking out.
In a public statement shared on March 25, Pascal Duvier responded to accusations tied to an encounter at a São Paulo hotel. The incident, which drew widespread attention online, involved Jorginho's 11-year-old daughter, Ada.
Jorginho later spoke out, saying his daughter was left shaken by the interaction and questioning why a simple moment involving a young fan was treated as a problem.
Duvier said he does not respond to rumors but felt compelled to clarify. "I take full responsibility for the interactions," he stated, while firmly denying any connection to Roan's personal security team.
According to Duvier, he was working for another client at the time. He emphasized that his actions were not directed by the singer or her representatives, adding that he made a "judgment call" based on prior observations and general safety concerns at the location.
The controversy first surfaced when Jorginho claimed his daughter had been unfairly confronted after simply walking near Roan during breakfast. He alleged the interaction left her shaken, questioning why such behavior would be treated as harassment.
Roan later addressed the situation herself, stating she had no knowledge of the exchange and did not instruct anyone to approach the child or her family. A spokesperson for the singer echoed that stance, stressing that she maintains strict standards for conduct and does not tolerate aggressive behavior.
Meanwhile, Ada's mother, Catherine Harding, shared her own version of events, suggesting the guard may have overstepped regardless of who he was working for.
Duvier concluded his statement by describing the encounter as calm in intent but ultimately regrettable in outcome, as differing accounts of the moment continue to circulate.
