Selena Gomez is opening up about the beauty choices behind her wedding day, revealing that one of her own brand's products played a key role in her look.

The 33 year old founder of Rare Beauty shared that she has been quietly using the brand's upcoming True To Myself Natural Matte Longwear Foundation over the past year. The product has already been part of several major moments in her life, including red carpet appearances, the Academy Awards, and her "Sunset Blvd" music video. It also became a central part of her wedding to Benny Blanco.

When planning her bridal look, Gomez said she wanted a finish that felt soft yet matte, something that would stand the test of time in photos. She explained that she was thinking about how she would look back at those images years from now and wanted a timeless, polished appearance.

The foundation proved to be especially reliable throughout the day's celebrations. Gomez admitted she was both excited and nervous during the wedding, which led to sweating as the event unfolded. Despite this, she said her makeup remained intact even as her hair reacted to the heat and movement.

The product itself offers buildable coverage with a natural matte finish and is available in 48 shades, catering to a wide range of skin tones and undertones. Gomez described its texture as light and airy, while still delivering a smooth matte result. She noted that it can be applied lightly for everyday wear or layered for a more dramatic look.

Accessibility was also a key focus in the design of the product. The foundation comes in a capless bottle with a wide pump and easy lock mechanism, features intended to support users who may have difficulty with dexterity. Gomez emphasized that inclusivity is an important part of the brand's mission, aiming to make products that feel comfortable and easy for everyone to use.

In addition to performance and accessibility, the foundation was created to simplify makeup routines. Gomez explained that she wanted a product that could reduce the number of steps required while still delivering professional level results. She said the formula allows for quick application while still offering flexibility in coverage.

The foundation took three years to develop, reflecting the brand's growth and learning process. Gomez expressed pride in the final result, calling it one of her favorite creations and sharing her hope that others will enjoy it just as much.

The True To Myself foundation is set to launch on April 2 through Rare Beauty and Sephora.
