The chatter picked up after stylist Law Roach teased earlier this month that a ceremony had already happened.
Asked directly by host Jimmy Kimmel about the buzz, Zendaya played it cool. "Really? I haven't seen any of that," she quipped, before acknowledging how convincing the fake photos appear.
"People were stopping me in real life, saying the pictures looked beautiful," she said. "I had to tell them they're not real."
Kimmel noted that some viewers even felt left out, which Zendaya confirmed with a laugh.
To set the record straight, she introduced a never-before-seen video clip. The footage showed a wedding scene from The Drama, in which she stars opposite Robert Pattinson, with Holland's face humorously edited onto the groom.
"It was a beautiful day," she joked, doubling down when Kimmel pointed out the obvious edit.
Though she stopped short of confirming anything about her real-life status, the moment arrived just days after she sparked fresh talk by wearing a ring alongside her engagement band at the Academy Awards.
