Newly released documents related to Jeffrey Epstein contain claims that the late financier once told a victim he had fathered a child with a woman he described as "perfect."

According to material from Justice Department files, a woman who alleged she was abused by Epstein beginning when she was 16 told investigators that he once pointed to a photograph displayed inside his New York residence and claimed the woman pictured was the mother of his child.

The woman told authorities that the photograph showed a blonde woman on a beach and that Epstein kept the image prominently displayed in one of the rooms of his Manhattan home. She said he spoke highly of the woman and described her as "perfect."

The alleged victim also told investigators that Epstein kept a sculpted mold of the woman's torso in the same residence. The claims were documented during an FBI interview conducted in January 2020, several months after Epstein died in a New York jail cell while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.

Documents related to the case also include photographs showing Epstein holding a baby and another image in which he appears to be embracing a woman while she cradles an infant. The identities of the woman and child were redacted in the files.

The photos have fueled speculation about whether Epstein may have secretly fathered a child, though no confirmation has been made. Epstein's brother, Mark Epstein, has previously denied claims that the financier had any children.

Additional reports in the documents suggest that Epstein had expressed interest in fathering children with several women. Past reporting has also alleged that he once discussed plans involving women having children with him at his ranch in New Mexico.

Emails from Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, that surfaced previously also appeared to reference a child. In a message sent in 2011, she congratulated Epstein after hearing he had welcomed a baby boy.

Other women connected to Epstein have also alleged that he asked them to have his child, according to testimony and documents referenced in earlier legal cases.
