Halle Berry is speaking candidly about a personal change she has made in her intimate life, revealing that she no longer feels the need to pretend satisfaction in the bedroom.
In a preview of her upcoming Sex With Emily podcast appearance, the Oscar-winning actress revealed she no longer pretends to reach orgasm to spare a partner's feelings, saying it is a habit she has consciously left behind.
"I don't do that anymore," Berry said, explaining that in the past women were often conditioned to reassure their partners even when the experience was not equally fulfilling. "Because what is that doing? That's putting his needs before our own."
The actress emphasized that intimacy should be mutually enjoyable, adding that both partners deserve to leave the experience feeling satisfied.
"I'm like, 'No, I come first like you come first to you.' We both deserve to have this be a mutually enjoyable experience," she said.
Berry's remarks come as she seems to be thriving personally. Now 59, she is engaged to musician Van Hunt, her partner since 2020. The couple have previously spoken about the depth of their connection, with Berry noting in an earlier interview that their relationship marked the first time she had been deeply in love before becoming physically involved.
"It was the first time I was madly in love before I had sex. That has never happened to me, ever... It was magical," she said at the time.
Over the years, Berry's perspective on relationships has evolved following her previous marriages to David Justice, Eric Benét, and Olivier Martinez. Reflecting on her journey in past interviews, she has said those experiences helped her recognize patterns that were not working and pushed her toward a more honest approach to love and self-worth.
Now, Berry says she is prioritizing authenticity, communication and balance in her relationship, making it clear that mutual satisfaction, not performance, is what matters most.
