Brittany Curran was arrested on a charge of public intoxication earlier this month.
The 35 year old actress, known for her role on Chicago Fire, was taken into custody by the Burbank Police Department on Friday, Feb. 13. According to the department's arrest log, Curran was allegedly "drunk in public" and was charged with disorderly conduct. She was not held on bail and was released the same day.
Curran appeared on season 2 of Chicago Fire in 2013 and 2014 as Katie Nolan, the half sister of Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) and daughter of Benny Severide (Treat Williams). She returned to the show in season 7 and earned recognition for her recurring role.
In addition to Chicago Fire, Curran starred in four seasons of SyFy's The Magicians, portraying Fen, the wife of Eliot (Hale Appleman). She also had roles in the Netflix series Dear White People and the thriller series Twisted.
Following the arrest, Curran posted on her Instagram Stories on Monday, Feb. 16, sharing updates as usual without mentioning the incident. She posted videos of the pet rat she shares with composer James Ingram. Curran got engaged to Ingram in Paris in 2020, describing the moment to PEOPLE as a dream come true when he proposed with a Tiffany ring.
Curran is currently preparing for her next project, a romance movie titled The Heartbreak, in which she stars alongside Joey Lawrence and Beverly D'Angelo. In a
May Instagram post, Curran expressed excitement about the role, writing that she could not wait to bring her character, Julia Winters, to life. The film is currently in post-production according to IMDb.
Throughout her career, Curran has balanced television and film roles while maintaining a private personal life, and her recent Instagram activity shows her continuing daily routines despite the brief legal incident.
