Bella Hadid's former partner, award-winning cowboy and horse trainer Adan Banuelos, was arrested in Texas in the early hours of Saturday on a charge of public intoxication, according to jail records and multiple reports.
Banuelos was taken into custody in Parker County, Texas, and booked into the Parker County Jail before posting bond and being released after paying a $386 fee. Details surrounding the circumstances of the arrest have not been disclosed, and local authorities have not issued further comment. Representatives for Banuelos have also not responded publicly.
The arrest comes shortly after reports confirmed that Banuelos and supermodel Bella Hadid had ended their relationship earlier this month, following nearly two years together. The pair were first linked in late 2023 after meeting at a horse show in Fort Worth, Texas, and their relationship became public in early 2024.
Sources previously described the relationship as on-again, off-again, with one insider characterizing it as "tumultuous." The former couple were also reported to share business ties, including the joint purchase of high-value horses, which reportedly complicated their split.
Despite signs of reconciliation throughout 2024 — including public appearances and social media posts — reports suggested the relationship had ended by December. Hadid was notably absent from Banuelos' side during the holiday season and was later seen vacationing with friends in Aspen.
Banuelos is a prominent figure in the professional equestrian world. He has won the National Cutting Horse Association Open Rider of the Year title multiple times and was inducted into the NCHA Riders Hall of Fame at a notably young age. Earlier this month, he celebrated surpassing $8 million in lifetime NCHA earnings. On the night preceding his arrest, he reportedly competed at the 4YO Open Derby during the Bosque Ranch Winter Bash.
Hadid has previously spoken publicly about Banuelos in interviews, describing him as a "breath of fresh air" and noting that he was focused on building a future rooted in family and hard work. In a past profile, she said he was someone who "works for his family" and hoped "to build a home and a family one day."
Neither Hadid nor Banuelos has addressed the breakup or the arrest directly. According to sources, Hadid has been focusing on her career and surrounding herself with close friends following the split, while Banuelos has continued competing on the horse show circuit.
As of now, no additional charges related to the arrest have been announced.
